**Special Educator Job description -**

**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Individualized Instruction**: Develop and implement tailored lesson plans and instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of students with autism.
- **Behavior Management**: Utilize positive behavior support techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in the classroom.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create and maintain a cohesive educational plan for each student.
- **Assessment**: Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavioral data.
- **Social Skills Development**: Facilitate social skills training through structured activities and peer interactions, promoting effective communication and relationship-building.
- **Family Engagement**: Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies to support learning at home.
- **Professional Development**: Stay current with best practices in special education and autism research. Attend workshops and training sessions as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- State certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Experience working with children with autism, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Creativity in adapting lessons to meet diverse learning styles.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and tools for special education.
