According to duty roster, each MO will be assigned and will be responsible for certain area.
- MO shall visit and examine the admitted patients in the wards/ rooms at least twice in a shift and S.O.S.
- Medical Officer shall be available always in the ICU. In need of counselling, he can explain the queries to attendants at MO room.
- The MO shall be responsible for physical examination &arrangement for routine investigation of all patients under their care as directed by the consultant.
- Make sure that lab reports are available by time of consultant rounds.
- MOs shall maintain MO-handover register which should be complete and readable.
- During duty MO will give instructions and directions to the staff nurses and confirm that they are complied.
- Monitor/ counter check the medicines given by the staff nurses.
- Make sure that the staff nurses are trained in the procedure assigned to them.
- He shall take rounds with consultant.
- Before doing any procedure he shall explain to patient (if conscious) regarding the procedure and take informed consent.
- Ensure that consent form is filled and signed by the attendant before doing any procedure.
- MO has to explain about the patient’s conditions to the attendants during visiting time.
- The medical officer will not leave the premises of the hospital during their duty hours until he has prior permission from the authority.
- Medical officer should inform consultant if patient’s condition is not sound or any change in condition.
- They shall takeover and hand over their duty bed by bed/ room by room.
- Maintaining and recording the registers properly.
- Make sure that the discharge summary is prepared properly as per hospital guidelines.
- Make a cordial relationship with patients and their family.
- They will be required to carry out such other duties as may be laid down by the consultant or administrative department.

**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
