Logistics Administrator, Ahmedabad, India

Qatar Airways is looking for a Logistics Administrator to join its newly established Global Business Services (GBS) operations in Ahmedabad, India.

This position will effectively support the logistics section of the Procurement department in relation to multi-modal freight movement (imports and exports). Timely follow-up for space availability with QR Cargo shipping lines and manage end to end delivery of the consignments in the most timely and economic manner ensuring best value for the company in line with its strategic, financial and operational requirements

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate with internal user departments, QR Cargo, freight forwarders and shipping lines on logistics projects/tasks
- Calculate total landed cost utilizing incoterms for suppliers under consideration for various procurement activities
- Coordinate on each shipment and day to day logistics issues and liaise closely with Stakeholders, QR Cargo, Stores (GWC or Others) and Shipping lines to monitor the imports and exports of QR Group shipments
- Review shipping documents to check the correctness and details of shipping documents to match QR Import Requirements and raise any escalations to line manager
- Select the appropriate freight forwarder based on the type of cargo, mode of transport required, origin and destination and perform accurate planning and routing analysis for shipments to be assigned
- Verify and ensure accurate invoices are raised by freight forwarders to ensure alignment per agreement
- Provide relevant data for insurance and claim handling purposes regarding damaged goods to HQ

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications - External**
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
- Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance or Engineering
- Should be well versed with Incoterms 2010 and all relevant terminology
- Relevant vocational, tertiary or trade qualification
- Logistics related vocational qualification and/or educational credits preferred
- Experience in the aviation industry preferred
- Good command over both written and spoken English
- Be aware of the Qatar import/export laws and customs regulations pertaining to Multi-modal freight operations
- Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately
- Broad working knowledge of policies, procedure and rules and regulations in local (including customs) and international logistics would be preferred
