**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead R&D efforts for the development of new materials, components, and construction techniques tailored for high-end women’s footwear.
- Research and identify innovative materials (leathers, têxtiles, hardware, soles, etc.) that align with luxury aesthetics and performance standards.
- Partner with design and product teams to support the technical realization of creative concepts from prototype to production.
- Collaborate with suppliers and factories (especially in Italy, Spain, or Portugal) to explore capabilities, develop new techniques, and solve construction challenges.
- Analyze wearability, durability, and comfort to ensure both form and function are optimized for the luxury consumer.
- Champion sustainable innovation in materials and processes.
- Conduct testing and trials on new developments and document findings.
- Provide technical input on fit, pattern engineering, heel and sole development, and finishing techniques.
- Support continuous improvement in quality and manufacturing efficiency.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 8-10 years of experience** in R&D or technical development within the luxury/high fashion women’s footwear industry.
- Degree in Footwear Technology, Industrial Design, Material Science, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of footwear construction methods, last development, and materials sourcing.
- Strong relationships with luxury footwear factories and material suppliers, particularly in Europe.
- Proven track record of delivering innovative and commercially successful footwear solutions.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Rhino, Delcam Crispin), pattern software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Passion for luxury craftsmanship, detail, and forward-thinking design.
