**Job Description: General Dentist**

**Position Overview**:
A General Dentist provides comprehensive oral care to patients by diagnosing and treating various dental conditions, maintaining oral health, and preventing dental diseases. This role involves performing routine dental procedures, educating patients on oral hygiene, and working closely with a dental team to deliver excellent patient care.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Patient Care**:

- Perform thorough examinations to assess patients' oral health and diagnose dental conditions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide preventive care, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
- Address dental issues by performing restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and dentures.
- Conduct extractions, root canal treatments, and minor oral surgeries when necessary.
- **Patient Education**:

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
- Discuss treatment options, procedures, and post-care instructions with patients in a clear and compassionate manner.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Work closely with dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Supervise and mentor support staff as needed.
- **Record Management**:

- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and procedure notes.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical requirements related to patient documentation.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to all dental regulations, guidelines, and infection control protocols.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental practices and technologies.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from an accredited dental college.
- Valid state dental license.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous education and professional development.

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- Experience with digital dentistry tools (e.g., CAD/CAM systems).
- Proficiency in performing advanced procedures such as cosmetic dentistry or implant placement.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

**Work Environment**:

- Full-time in a dental clinic.
- May include evening or weekend hours depending on patient needs.
