**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Income Tax Compliance**:

- Ensure the company’s income tax filings (federal, state, and local) are accurate and filed on time.
- Review and analyze tax returns and financial statements to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Manage relationships with external tax authorities and external auditors.

2. **Tax Strategy and Planning**:

- Advise on tax strategies to optimize business operations and reduce tax liabilities.
- Provide guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate restructuring, evaluating tax implications.
- Perform tax forecasting and modeling to assess potential risks and opportunities.

3. **Research and Analysis**:

- Stay updated on changes in income tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure company compliance.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax matters and provide recommendations to management.

4. **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Prepare internal tax reports and maintain documentation supporting tax positions and filings.
- Assist with preparing materials for tax audits and disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of all tax-related activities and ensure consistency in reporting.

5. **Cross-functional Collaboration**:

- Partner with finance, accounting, legal, and business teams to ensure alignment on tax issues and strategies.
- Train and mentor junior staff on income tax matters.
- Assist in preparing board presentations or reports on tax positions or risks.

6. **Advisory Services**:

- Provide strategic tax advice to senior management on a variety of income tax matters, including international tax, transfer pricing, and employee compensation.
- Advise on tax implications for business operations in multiple jurisdictions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or JD in Taxation is a plus).
- CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in income tax preparation, compliance, and planning (preferably in a corporate environment or tax advisory firm).
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficient in tax preparation software, Excel, and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with international tax issues and transfer pricing.
- Knowledge of corporate tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with tax provisions for complex business structures and financial instruments.
