KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA FOR THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Hostel Superintendent to oversee

the day-to-day operations of our hostel and ensure the well-being of our residential

students.

This is a residential learning centre for 1000 rural girls from 6 to 16 years, who will come

from the remote areas of West Bengal. We aim to impart skill-based education in Gurukul

tradition to girls making them ‘Atmanirbhar”, hence looking for someone who will act like

a mother to all the children.

As the Hostel Superintendent you will be responsible for managing all aspects of hostel

administration and student welfare. Your duties will include:
Hostel Management:

- Oversee the overall administration and maintenance of hostel facilities, including

rooms, common areas, and amenities.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security staff to ensure a clean,

safe, and comfortable living environment for students.

Student Supervision:

- Supervise hostel wardens and other staff members to ensure smooth operations

and adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
- Address student concerns, resolve conflicts, and provide support for students'

academic and personal needs.
- Provide a nurturing environment where students feel safe and valued.

- Offer emotional support and lend a listening ear to the students’ concerns and

issues.

Health and Well-being:

- Ensure students are eating nutritious meals and maintaining good health.
- Be vigilant about the health conditions of students and take prompt action when

needed.

Moral and Ethical Guidance:

- Instill values and principles that align with the Gurukul’s ethos.
- Serve as a role model in behavior, attitude, and lifestyle.

Safety and Security:

- Maintain a secure and safe living environment.
- Be vigilant about the students’ whereabouts and ensure their safety at all times.

Administrative Tasks:

- Maintain accurate records of hostel occupancy, student registrations, and

disciplinary actions.
- Prepare reports, budgets, and proposals related to hostel operations and

improvements.
- Helping in cost optimization

Qualifications and Skills Required:

- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, administration, or a related field is

preferred.
- Previous experience in hostel management, student housing, or residential

facility administration.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and

prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with students,

staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in hostel

administration and student welfare.
