Retail Planner

Job Summary: The Retail Planner will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, market insights, and collaboration with buying, operations, and marketing teams to ensure optimal stock availability and assortment planning. Key Responsibilities:
1. Merchandise & Inventory Planning
Develop and execute seasonal merchandise financial plans to drive sales and profitability. Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast demand and manage stock levels. Optimize inventory allocation across stores to ensure availability while minimizing markdowns. Monitor and adjust Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets to align with business goals.
2. Sales & Performance Analysis
Track key performance metrics (KPIs) such as sell-through rates, GMROI, and stock turns. Analyze sales trends to identify bestsellers, slow-moving items, and opportunities for replenishment.
Provide insights to the buying team for future assortment planning.
3. Store & Channel Optimization
Work closely with retail teams to understand store-specific demand and optimize stock distribution.
Support omnichannel strategies, ensuring the right balance between offline and online inventory.
Coordinate product launches and promotions with marketing and store teams.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with the buying team to develop an optimal assortment plan.
Work closely with supply chain teams to manage product flow and ensure timely deliveries. Liaise with finance teams for budgeting, markdown management, and profitability analysis.
5. Process Improvement & System Management
Utilize retail planning tools and software (e.g., SAP, ERP, BI tools) to enhance decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and efficiency.
Implement automation and data-driven approaches to optimize stock management. Key
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, or a related field.
Experience: 8 - 10 years of experience in retail planning, merchandising, or inventory management.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Excel, ERP, and planning software. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing retail trends.
