This position is accountable for the overall controls in accounts department.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:_Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below._
- ** He will be responsible for**:
- Co-ordination of month end and financial reporting
- Play an integral role in continuous improvement of reporting processes
- Developing relationships with the business and ensuring finance team add maximum value
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of consolidated management information.
- Maintaining Winner Circle Initiatives for the Chennai Plant and authorizing companywide projects from finance perspective
- Responsible for coordinating and driving the budgeting and reforecasting processes. Ensuring these is delivered in a timely and accurate manner, which ensures involvement and ownership by the business leaders.
- Responsible for the consolidated Balance Sheet, ensuring that all appropriate balance sheet controls and reconciliations are in place to ensure integrity
- Ownership of the inter
- company accounting process, ensuring transfer pricing compliance and transparency of all recognized balances and transactions.
- Provision of group wide analysis to identify commercial opportunities and provide challenge to ensure realistic and challenging targets are set for the business.
- Identify cost saving opportunities across the Group, working with CFO's and the other Financial Controllers to implement initiatives.
- Provide support to the CFO on key projects and deliverables.
- Provide commercial support to the leaders of the corporate functions to control costs.
- Assessment of current financial processing and reporting system and establish requirements for alternative if not fit for purpose.
- Responsible for management and financial reporting in Gates Chennai, ensuring supports decision-making process for the board.
- Responsible for coordination of year-end audit and deliverables for the production of statutory accounts, working closely with the auditors to achieve this.
- Ensure all appropriate accounting standards are applied consistently
- Continuously update the in house accounting system and liaise with external accountants through daily and annual controls to ensure an effective accounting operation
- Financial reporting - formation of monthly managerial reports for in house and external use, report to regulatory bodies, general and ad hoc reporting as and when required
- To monitor the budget on an ongoing basis Responsible for control of monthly and annual reports at the head office and subsidiaries. Focus on control measures on subsidiaries accounts
- He has to ensure the adherence of code of conduct & ethics. Shall set an example as a role model for his team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- He will need to maintain and improve the 5S standards in his area of work and also in work zones for which he is assigned ownership.
- He will need to ensure compliance of HSE standards as stated in the policy in his area of work. As a responsible employee of the organization he has to bring to the attention of the safety committee any unsafe practice/working conditions in the facility.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
He will be reporting to the Director - Finance.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:_To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required._
- Business or Accounting degree
- +8 years of experience in Financial Accounting with regional exposure, accounting / costing experience a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Ability to provide concurrent oversight to multiple resources and projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.

- Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates effective time management
- Strong communicator - both written and verbal in technical and non-technical environment
- Proactive, self-motivated. Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and follow through to meet objectives
