**The Opportunity**

This role will be based in our Bangalore Office, ensuring the successful delivery of technically excellent multidisciplinary rail projects and bids primarily in the India & UK portfolio and as well as global. We are looking for an enthusiastic Technician with excellent technical and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in a multi-professional design team.

In this role, you will be CAD/BIM Technician for the Rail systems design package works, where you will responsible for the delivery of Rail systems technical drawings and modelling and you will be part of a wider multi-disciplinary rail team, responsible for the successful delivery of our design commissions for our major clients including Network Rail contractors in the UK (in a design and build context), other agencies such as Train Operators, Councils, Passenger Transport Executives, academic institutions and EPC Contractors in India.

**Is this role right for you?**

Your core domain will be CAD/BIM in Rail systems for Traction Power, Power Systems, Rail MEP, while you will coordinate with other disciplines including Rail Civils and Structures, where you will be responsible for determining the CAD/BIM requirements of wide range of Rail systems works and provide effective solutions to multidisciplinary design teams working on large or medium-sized projects, reporting to the CAD/BIM lead and the Rail systems design Team Lead to ensure completion within the allocated budget and schedule.

All the while, you will have the freedom to work independently, managing your own personal development utilizing our in
- house and external training opportunities, where you will be responsible to manage a team of Junior engineers working with you.

To summarize, this specific role will include, but not limited to the following:

- Preparation of technical drawings, models and its associated modelling and coordination activities for the Rail Systems design engineering team in all stages of project.
- Production of 2D & 3D drawing documentation in support of the system design teams such as Traction power, Power distribution, Overhead Catenary system, Signalling and Communication etc.
- Supporting the production of Building Information Modelling (BIM) documentation across the required disciplines where you will monitor and ensure project adherence to CDE standards
- Assist in preparation of BIM execution plans and its associated documents and capable to perform BIM management and Virtual Design Review (VDR)
- Checking drawings and models for accuracy and quality of own output, as well as work produced by others’, ensuring outputs meet the required standards
- Liaising with the project document control, ProjectWise or Common data environment admin teams
- Responsible for producing co-ordination reports from templates defined regionally and globally
- Managing your own time on projects to ensure deadlines are met and assisting with preparation of project related correspondence and technical reports
- Participate in meetings, presentations, workshops and delegate work to more junior technicians

**Qualifications**
- Diploma/bachelor’s in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Technician Member of the IET or related professional body (or working towards)
- Overall experience of above 5 years with relevant experience of 3 years in an independent Electrical CAD technician role with strong skill set in BIM modelling, 2D/3D drawings using CAD software namely: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MicroStation & OpenRail/OpenRoads
