**Job Purpose**:
Execute maintenance and repair activities of all the instrumentation equipments in the CPP in order to ensure the availability & reliability of plant & in order to achieve the plant goal of uninterrupted power supply to cement plant within budgeted cost & time frame

**Job Context & Major Challenges**:
Gujarat Cement Works is a port based cement plant with two kilns of 7500 TPD capacity, clinker producing capacity of the plant is 5.0 MT per annum and cement grinding capacity is 4.2 MT per annum.
GCW and NCCL put together constitute 43% of clinker production capacity and 30% of grinding capacity of UltraTech Cement Ltd.
In order to reduce cost, GCW has decided to set up Lignite based Captive Power Plant to cater to the Power needs of GCW and NCCL. It is expected that cost of P
ower generated by Thermal Power Plant would be in the range of range of Rs. 2.50 to Rs. 2.7 per unit., depending upon the Source of Lignite and it would bring down the power cost component in the manufacture of cement and thereby the variable cost.

- Accountability:CPP operations (March 06 - July 06):
To provide uninterrupted, quality power to the cement unit. Start up and shutdown of the plant in safe way with planning and to eliminate forced outages.
- Visit and inspect the functioning of each equipment.
Assist in shutdown plan execution.
Follow up for availability of standby equipment.
Maintaining the log sheets, assisting the operation engineer & daily visit to site.
- KRA2
- CPP operations (March 06 - July 06):
To provide uninterrupted, quality power to the cement unit. Start up and shutdown of the plant in safe way with planning and to eliminate forced outages.

- Proper erection, commission, execution and optimization of the system as whole in line with the civil, mechanical systems etc.
Survey and monitor the progress of day to day site activity and reporting the same to higher authority.
- KRA4
- Thermal Power Project (Aug 06 Mar 07):
Field supervision of erection & commissioning activities of Weigh Bridge, Boiler & its auxiliaries and Water Treatment Plant.
- Proper erection, commission, execution and optimization of the system as whole in line with the civil, mechanical systems etc.
Survey and monitor the progress of day to day site activity and reporting the same to higher authority.
