- New Delhi**Roles and Responsibilities**

**The position reports to the Manging Editor and will have the following primary responsibilities**:

- Copy-edits, proofs and prepares for publication, all the way up to printer's proofs, approx. 15 original titles a year
- Review and edit with standard proofreading as per timelines
- Regular and timely liaison with authors
- Liaising with commissioning editors, writers and other stakeholders.
- Marking copy with standard proofreading marks to notify writers and editors of necessary changes.
- Adding/deleting words, phrases or sentences to improve the reading of a text.
- Checking facts and statistics to ensure the text is accurate and correct.
- Making stylistic suggestions.
- Re-wording/re-working sentences or whole sections of text.
- Writes blurbs and assists relevant commissioning editor with the preparation of front matter and end matter to the above titles.
