**Big Data Architect - SHAPE**

**Description**

This role is for a big data architect that will design, develop and implement new Hadoop enhancements and features for our scalable data analytics solutions. Our big data platform supports a diverse community of internal and customer-based data scientists, statisticians, modelers, product developers, and data strategists.

As a contributing member to all of the analytics agile development teams, you will have both the accountability and freedom to build systems that are taking TransUnion to the next level. Success in this role requires a blend of skills in the following technology areas:

- Expert in Big Data & Relational Database Design

**What you’ll bring**
- At least two years of hands on leadership experience leading technical teams and coaching resources
- Hands on big data development experience with Hadoop (Hive & Spark)
- Hands on Business Intelligence development experience with Tableau or related BI tools (Click, D3, PowerBI)
- Experience working on teams operating under an Agile Scrum delivery methodology

**What we’d prefer to see**
- Proficiency with one or more Data Integration tools (Ab Initio)
- Proficiency working in a Linux based environment, including shell scripting and basic system administration
- Experience working within a Ci/CD environment and a passion for automation and system quality
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent degree

- You’ll operate as a member on one of the core teams responsible for enabling new features and optimizing our multi-petabyte platforms that support a diverse community of internal and customer based data scientists, statisticians, modelers, product developers and data strategists
- Deploy and Implementing leading-edge analytics environments including software, end-user tools, and other data services
- You’ll collaborate with product owners and team members on requirements and implementation approaches for addressing demand and challenges
- You’ll Design and develop tools and services enabling end-user productivity and system integrations
- You’ll partner with business resources to troubleshoot issues, manage capacity, and plan for the optimization of expansion of environments
- You’ll assist in technology innovation actives such as research, evaluations, and prototyping
