Expertise in Mainframes technology which include COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, IMS and tools like CA7, Control-M, Expeditor, Endeavor and file-aid etc.,
Strong exposure to IT Service Management process, which includes Incident, Problem, Change, Release & Deployment. Flexible to work in different shifts or 24*7 support oncall out of office hours and weekend.
SDLC process - Requirement gathering, analysis, design, estimation, Understanding of low-level design, development, preparation of unit test plan, unit test cases, unit testing, defect analysis, migration activities, test support, implementation and post Production support. Knowledge in Agile or Waterfall methodology.
Application modernization experience in moving from Legacy Mainframe technologies to modern technology.
Good verbal & written communication skills.
The Mainframe Professional to take strong ownership on actions, to find innovative ways to improve the services’ agility and efficiency, and to continuously gain more skills. Professional should be able to lead technically and mentor others as appropriate.
**Responsibilities**
As a Mainframe Application developer/Support Analyst, he/she will take on a combination of following responsibilities:
- Application Maintenance and Support or Development or Modernization
- L2 Incident, Major Incidents, Represent team in war room/triage calls
- L3 Problem Management, analysis, and code fix
- Problem/Change/Release & deployment coordinator
- Release to Build and Test - Implement or adapt service support according to the defined project. Assist and prepare Acceptance-for-Support session.
- Configuration Management - Keep Configuration Management tool up to date, upon build activities. Creates Configuration Item record in Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Being responsive to clients whilst following the principles and procedures of the quality management system
- Build strong working relationship with onshore/offshore team, customer and users.
- Good awareness of the customer’s business and in-depth knowledge of the customer’s environment and processes.
- Generate and submit reports/updates to management when needed.
- Follow training plans, requirements and schedules as outlined
- Must have a sense of ownership in handling project and technical issues and able to provide effective and timely resolution.
- Complete and keep up to date with all Mandatory trainings.
- Good to have the ITSM/ITIL knowledge/Certifications
- Ensure following of processes and best practices
**Desired Skills and Qualifications**
- Should have strong experience in **COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM and IMS DB/DC**.
- Strong analytical, good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/documentation for delivery.
- Experience in identifying and delivering technical solutions to customer business problems.
- Excellent English both verbal and written communication skills and capable of independently communicating with customers.
- Should be flexible to work in shifts (24/7)
- Exposure to IT Service Management
- Good to have an experience working in Agile or Waterfall software development process
- Knowledge on Agile tools, Remedy and ServiceNow
**Nice to have skills**:
- Knowledge / Development/Support experience on AS400, Assembler, Natural Adabas, Microfocus, DL/1, PL/1
- Strong exposure to schedulers - CA/7/CONTROL - M/ZEKE
- Strong exposure to version controllers - ENDEVOR/PANVALET
- Debugging tools like Intertest/EXPEDITOR
- Knowledge on Mainframe special tools and reports like ABENDAID, TELON, Easytrive and FOCUS
- Knowledge on domain skills like Telecom, Banking, Retail, Insurance, Travel & Transport
