Seeking a highly skilled Java API Architect with extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based APIs
Has to define the architecture for our APIs, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability and understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

**Responsibilities**:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance Java-based APIs
Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and tools to support API development and integration
Ensure APIs meet performance, scalability, security, reliability requirements and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and other architectural challenges
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices
**Requirements**:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred
Proven experience (15+ years) designing and developing Java-based APIs, with a deep understanding of API design principles, patterns, and best practices
Extensive hands-on experience with Java programming language and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate)
Experience with API development tools and technologies, such as REST, GraphQL, Swagger, JSON, XML, etc
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native development (experience with containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus)
Familiarity with security protocols such as OAuth and API security best practices
Solid knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and architectural styles with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
