Cyber Security Operations Associate - IN

The Cyber Security Operations Associate participates in the development, communication, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of security controls to protect the organization's technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. Under general supervision, this job is responsible for performing tests and monitoring security controls that prevent IT-based crime, hacking, intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction of the organization's information systems and IT assets. This job also supports identifying information security issues that may pose a risk to the organization's business operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Designs, tests and implements secure operating systems, networks and databases for the organization.
- Performs difficult risk assessments and executes tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
- Analyzes system access logs, ensuring only permitted individuals have access to company information.
- Monitors use of data files and regulates access to safeguard information in computer files.
- Monitors current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems.
- Reviews violations of computer security procedures and alerts managers of issues that arise.

The Information Security Vulnerability Assessment Specialist assists in conducting vulnerability assessments to protect the company's data, information systems and networks. Under general supervision, this job performs analysis to recommend corrective actions and to identify the intrusion paths that exist within the current systems. This job also assists in identifying and analyzing threats or hidden events within the enterprise network.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Performs vulnerability assessments to test existing network safeguards, and employs computer network defense tools and approved practices to protect networks to ensure data security.
- Identifies portions of the organization's IT platform/infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.
- Helps implement the organization's global strategies and initiatives to enhance Information Technology plans, operations and procedures.
- Analyzes causes and exploitation methods of malicious activities, along with identifying the effects on information technology systems and information.
- Assists in identifying intrusion or incident path and method for incidents found via vulnerability analysis.
- Contributes in making recommendations for vulnerability corrections within reports outlining past network security incidents.
- Performs analysis of software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems.
- Contributes to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to cyber and information operations.
- Provides recommendations for vulnerability corrections within reports outlining past network security incidents.
- Conducts cost/benefit evaluation of cloud solutions compared to virtual private networks, dedicated hosting, and in-house solutions.
- Assesses the technical feasibility of adopting external cloud based IT platform and infrastructure services within the organization.
