**Job Description: Legal Officer**

**Location**: Pune, Maharashtra

**Position Overview**:The Legal Officer will oversee all legal aspects of the IGI's operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This role involves providing legal advice, managing contracts, handling disputes, and ensuring the IGI’s interests are protected.
- **Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide legal counsel to the IGI’s leadership on academic, administrative, and operational matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, and agreements with external parties.
- Ensure compliance with state and central government laws, including UGC, AICTE, and other statutory guidelines.
- Represent the Indira Group of Institutes in legal proceedings, including disputes, litigations, and arbitrations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and handle approvals and documentation.
- Develop and implement internal policies to mitigate legal risks.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting higher education institutions.
- Train and guide staff on legal matters and compliance requirements.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.

10+ years of experience in legal practice, preferably in the education sector or corporate legal department.

Strong knowledge of Indian education laws, labor laws, and contractual frameworks.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Proficiency in legal research and drafting. Ability to manage multiple tasks.

**Reporting To**: Vice-Chancellor/Registrar

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
