The primary job responsibilities are:
**Responsibilities**:
**Pre-Operative Responsibilities**
- Conduct pre-surgical assessments including medical history review, physical examinations, and risk stratification for cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical patients.
- Coordinate and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all necessary investigations (blood work, imaging, ECG, echocardiogram, angiogram reports) are available and reviewed.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative expectations.
- Obtain informed consent in coordination with the surgical team.
- Assist with pre-operative medication orders and preparation protocols.

**Intra-Operative Responsibilities**
- **Assist the cardiothoracic surgeon during all types of open-heart and thoracic procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, ASD/VSD closures, aneurysm repairs, and thoracic resections.**:

- **Perform tasks such as sternotomy retraction, vein harvesting (open and endoscopic), internal mammary artery (IMA) dissection, suctioning, suturing, and handling surgical instruments.**:

- **Maintain clear communication with the surgical team regarding patient vitals, surgical field updates, and instrumentation.**:

- **Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and OT protocols during procedures.**

**Post-Operative Responsibilities**
- Monitor patients in the ICU and step-down units for post-operative recovery, complications, and progress.
- Perform wound care, remove chest tubes, manage dressings, and monitor surgical sites.
- Evaluate lab results, imaging, and echo studies for post-op assessments.
- Assist in post-operative rounds and contribute to care planning with intensivists, cardiologists, and surgeons.
- Provide discharge planning, patient instructions, and ensure continuity of care post-discharge.

**Administrative & Coordination Duties**
- Maintain accurate surgical notes, operative reports, and documentation in the EMR.
- Coordinate with nursing, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and OT technicians to ensure smooth surgical scheduling and preparedness.
- Participate in mortality/morbidity meetings, audits, and clinical quality improvement programs.
- Support training and mentoring of junior medical officers or PA students, if applicable.
- Stay updated with the latest protocols and advancements in cardiac surgical care.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹75,000.00 per month
