**Job Purpose**:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Medical Counsellor or Financial Counsellor to guide patients and their families through the financial aspects of medical treatment, insurance, and payment options. The role requires knowledge of healthcare services, financial counseling, and empathetic communication to ensure that patients and families understand and are supported throughout the treatment process.

**Key Responsibilities**:Medical Counsellor**:

- **Patient Education**:

- Provide clear and detailed explanations of medical procedures, treatments, and care options to patients and their families.
- Offer guidance on treatment plans, patient rights, and the hospital’s policies.
- Help patients understand their medical diagnoses and available treatment options in a way that is easy to understand.
- **Emotional Support**:

- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, especially those dealing with serious or chronic conditions.
- Assist patients in coping with anxiety, stress, or emotional concerns related to their medical conditions.
- Offer counseling sessions and provide resources for additional psychological or emotional support when needed.
- **Facilitate Communication**:

- Act as a liaison between medical professionals, patients, and their families to ensure effective communication.
- Help patients navigate complex medical terminology and ensure they have a full understanding of their treatment options.
- **Support in Decision-Making**:

- Assist patients in making informed decisions regarding their healthcare options by providing them with the necessary information.
- Guide patients through the process of selecting the best healthcare options based on their conditions, preferences, and financial situations.
- **Patient Follow-Up**:

- Ensure continuous follow-up with patients to monitor their progress, address concerns, and provide ongoing support throughout their treatment journey.
- Address any post-treatment concerns or emotional distress related to their recovery.

**Financial Counsellor**:

- **Financial Guidance**:

- Provide detailed financial counseling to patients and families regarding the costs of treatments, procedures, and hospital services.
- Help patients understand the financial aspects of their medical care, including billing, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- **Insurance Assistance**:

- Assist patients in understanding their insurance policies and how they relate to the hospital’s services.
- Guide patients through the insurance claim process and help them submit necessary documents for claims and reimbursement.
- **Payment Plans & Discounts**:

- Work with patients to set up payment plans or help them understand hospital discounts and financial assistance programs.
- Offer advice and guidance on managing medical expenses, including exploring alternative financing options.
- **Billing Queries**:

- Address patient billing queries and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to charges.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of services rendered.
- **Government Schemes**:

- Provide information on available government healthcare schemes, subsidies, or financial assistance programs that patients may qualify for.
- **Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate records of patient financial counseling sessions, payment plans, and communication with insurance providers.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial and medical information.

**Qualifications & Skills**:Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or diplomas in medical counseling, financial management, or patient services are a plus.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical counseling, financial counseling, or related fields in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Experience in managing insurance claims and dealing with medical billing and financial assistance programs is preferred.

**Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Empathetic and patient-centric attitude with the ability to manage sensitive topics with care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital services, and treatment processes.
- Proficiency in using hospital management software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with insurance processes, payment systems, and financial counseling strategies.
