Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance

Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) is a five-year United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Global project with the following overall objectives:

- Improve the detection of diseases of public health importance and identification of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in priority infectious diseases through an accessible, accurate, adaptable, timely, and integrated diagnostic network system; and
- Improve the quality of real-time surveillance systems for pathogens of the greatest public health concern, including AMR and zoonotic diseases
- Generate evidence-based guidance and innovative solutions to strengthen in-country diagnostic networks and surveillance systems.

**Job Description**:
The TB Program Coordinator supports implementation of the USAID Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance project in India. The person in this position will help to ensure that the project’s TB activities are planned to match resources and client needs, meet established milestones and deadlines, follow established procedures, and achieve high quality results. The position is based in ICF’s New Delhi office and supports the India TB team.

Program Coordinator Responsibilities:

- Collect laboratory-related data directly from sites, analyze and follow up on any trouble shooting needed.
- Support development and submission of periodic project reports, reviews, deliverables, and M&E data.
- Facilitate the sector specialists to collate processed information and write content for the deliverable documents.
- Maintain project documentation.
- Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective and maintain and monitor project milestones, deliverable due dates, and project schedules, using Jira.
- Ensure project deadlines are met and document any delay justifications.
- Organize, conduct, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops.
- Maintain database of the NRLs’ and IRLs’ leaders (“in-charges”), Microbiologists and for various other stakeholders for better coordination and communications.
- Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members and stakeholders.
- Support the sector specialists in assessments of diagnostic facilities in public and private sector facilities and the follow-up of corrective and preventive actions and initiatives
- Support the sector specialists to provide technical assistance and mentorship to TB diagnostic facilities and the overall diagnostic network as part of overall capacity building and continuous improvement programs.
- Support the sector specialists to design and development of TB diagnostic research protocol and initiatives in close collaboration with stakeholders.
- Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
- Work closely with all sector specialists and consultants as assigned.
- Assess project issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Ensure work hours are tracked and regular team meetings held and documented.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Undertake other project tasks as required.
- Domestic travel, up to 20% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, public health, management, statistics, or related field of study
- 2+ years of experience coordinating health systems strengthening programs
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi
- Authorization to work in India

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in TB-focused diagnostic strengthening and capacity building in the countryExperience working on USAID projects
- Knowledge of research software
- Experience and mastery of Jira
- IDDS knowledge or experience
