**Job Description: Science Teacher (Grades 4 to 10)**

**Position Title**: Science Teacher
**Location**: Bangalore (Residential School)

**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Lesson Planning & Curriculum Delivery**:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the curriculum standards.
- Create interactive science lesson plans that make complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for students.
- Prepare practical experiments and demonstrations that align with theory to aid hands-on learning.
- **Classroom Instruction**:

- Use innovative teaching methodologies to foster critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities among students.
- **Assessments & Evaluation**:

- Develop and administer assessments (written and practical) to evaluate student progress and understanding.
- Analyze student performance and provide feedback to help them improve academically.
- **Student Support & Mentoring**:

- Provide individual attention and guidance to students as required.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional development through mentoring and positive encouragement.
- **Classroom Management**:

- Maintain discipline and ensure a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Encourage respectful communication and foster a collaborative learning atmosphere.
- **Parent-Teacher Communication**:

- Liaise with parents to discuss students' progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and provide timely updates about student development.
- **Extracurricular Contribution**:

- Actively participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs, competitions, and special projects.
- Organize science fairs, workshops, and other co-curricular events to promote scientific inquiry and innovation among students.
- **Collaboration with Colleagues**:

- Work collaboratively with the academic team to support school initiatives and strategies.
- Share teaching resources and best practices with fellow educators.

**Qualifications & Skills Required**:

- **Educational Background**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science) or a related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Prior experience teaching science from grades 4 through 10 in a residential or day school setting is preferred.
- Experience with both theory-based and practical classroom instruction.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to engage and inspire students through innovative teaching strategies.
- Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning strategies.
