**Job Title: EV Mechanic**

**Job Overview**:
As an Electric Vehicle (EV) Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electric vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. You will work with advanced EV systems such as high-voltage batteries, electric drivetrains, regenerative braking systems, and more. You will also need to have a good understanding of both traditional automotive repair and cutting-edge electric technology.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of EVs, ensuring they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical components, including electric motors, battery packs, power electronics, and regenerative braking systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with high-voltage systems, drive components, and related subsystems.
- Install and configure new components or replacement parts, ensuring proper calibration and integration with the vehicle’s control systems.
- Test and ensure the performance of key EV systems, such as battery life, charging, power distribution, and electric motor function.
- Provide expertise in diagnosing issues related to vehicle software and firmware updates.
- Stay up to date with new EV technology, repair methods, and tools, and participate in training programs as needed.
- Assist in educating customers on how to care for and maintain their EVs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in automotive repair or electrical systems (e.g., ASE certification, EV-specific training) preferred.
- Hands-on experience in EV repair and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electric vehicle systems and components, including battery management, charging infrastructure, and electric drivetrains.
- Familiarity with high-voltage electrical safety protocols.
- Good knowledge of standard automotive repair processes and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to work in a garage or workshop environment, including lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and tools.
- Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Previous experience with specific EV brands or models.
- Familiarity with battery technology and advanced power electronics.
- Understanding of charging stations, fast charging systems, and grid interaction.
