Job Title: Cafe Barista
Reports To: Cafe Manager
Job Overview: As a Cafe Barista, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for cafe customers. You will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cafe, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and specialty drinks. Ensure consistent quality, proper presentation, and adherence to recipes and standards.
Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, providing recommendations, and answering inquiries about coffee, menu items, and promotions. Ensure prompt and accurate order delivery.
Beverage Knowledge: Have a comprehensive understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles. Stay updated on coffee trends and innovations to provide customers with an exceptional coffee experience.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers. Ensure equipment is clean, properly calibrated, and functioning optimally. Report any equipment issues to management.
Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, process payments, and maintain a balanced cash drawer. Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures.
Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized cafe environment, including the coffee preparation area, seating area, and service counters. Follow hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
Upselling and Promotion: Suggest additional items, such as pastries, snacks, or merchandise, to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and new menu items.
Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing cafe inventory, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies. Report any inventory shortages or discrepancies to the cafe manager.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other cafe team members to ensure smooth operations, efficient customer service, and a positive work environment. Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive and productive team.
Customer Feedback: Actively seek and respond to customer feedback, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally. Use customer feedback to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a cafe or coffee shop environment.
- Excellent knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, drink recipes, and coffee flavor profiles.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a positive and friendly manner.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle pressure during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards in food and beverage service.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Salary**: ₹8,478.51 - ₹28,424.36 per month
