**Job Description-**

Primarily assesses and addresses students' mental health needs, including social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, by conducting evaluations, providing individual or group therapy, collaborating with teachers and parents, and developing interventions to support students' academic and personal development within the school environment. Key responsibilities of a clinical psychologist in a school:

- **Student assessments**:Conducting psychological evaluations to identify learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other mental health concerns through observation, interviews, and standardized testing.
- **Individual and group therapy**:Providing counseling sessions to students experiencing difficulties with behavior, peer relationships, family issues, academic stress, or trauma.
- **Crisis intervention**:Responding to immediate mental health crises within the school, such as self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
- **Consultation with staff**:Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to understand student behaviors, develop appropriate interventions, and provide support.
- **Parent education and collaboration**:Meeting with parents to discuss their child's mental health needs, provide strategies to support their child at home, and involve them in treatment planning.
- **Behavior management plans**:Creating and implementing behavior plans for students with challenging behaviors, including classroom interventions and positive reinforcement strategies.
- **Prevention programs**:Designing and delivering school-wide mental health initiatives to promote positive social-emotional development and coping skills.
- **Advocacy**:Working with school administration to ensure students with mental health needs receive appropriate accommodations and support services.

Key skills for a school clinical psychologist:

- Strong diagnostic and assessment skills
- Effective therapeutic techniques for children and adolescents
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, parents, and school staff
- Understanding of child development and typical challenges at different age levels
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
- Ability to interpret and analyze data from psychological assessments

Pay: ₹12,835.71 - ₹39,594.15 per month
