Assistant Security Officer

The job

Expanding Group IT in Stibo Systems, Bengaluru, India. This is a more strategic role that would see you engaged in the world of risk management and mitigation. In this role, you would oversee security systems, data protection controls, patching, encryption, vulnerability scanning, testing, and so on. You will be managing and overseeing the proper deployment, configuration, and functioning of these systems. Helping different teams around the organization understand third-party risk, data privacy issues, and more. This position reports to the local IT Manager.

Your primary objectives are:

- Recognize/categorize security events and incidents
- Assist incident/events
- Contribute to the security team
- Contribute to the mitigation progress/processes for vulnerabilities scanner
- Assist Group IT/business with security-related matters.
- Create and maintain documentation, including How-to and troubleshooting articles
- Stakeholder management (communication, feedback, meetings, task status, etc.)

Specific tasks for example:

- Ensure compliance with our standards and ensure best practices are followed in all projects and solutions
- Contribute to the coordination of Disaster Recovery processes
- Prioritize and coordinate own project, tasks, and activities in consideration of the priority and escalation procedure in Group IT
- Handling of events (investigation of system-generated events)

The ASO is responsible for establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the enterprise

Who we are looking for

We are searching for a person with sound knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of information security technologies. Proactively work with business units to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards for information security and oversee a variety of IT-related risk management activities. Develop security strategies, implement security procedures

Furthermore, you have/are
- Relevant Bachelors degree
- Solid IT documentation skills
- Independent
- Good communication skills
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Good technology understanding and awareness
- Focus on security
- Proactive and able to stay focused until the task is done
- Service-minded and patience
- Team player
- Being able to follow written instructions
- Responsible and structured

Technologies include
- Experience and keen understanding of cybersecurity tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint
- internal IT security tools functionality on a high level which aids in performing the IT compliance review.
- Knowledge of technical security concepts related to IT General Controls (ITGC Controls) - Identity & Access Management, Physical Security, Incident Management, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, Change Management, Logging & Monitoring Data Management, Asset Management
- Knowledge in any of these frameworks/standard COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001 - Information Security Management, GDPR, GxP, CIS18
- Experience with SOC-2 framework is a plus
