Day Care Teacher

1. hild Development & Instruction:
Plan and implement daily activities that promote the development of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills in children.

Provide a variety of learning experiences, including play-based learning, sensory activities, arts and crafts, music, and group play to foster creativity and exploration.

Ensure that children are actively engaged in developmentally appropriate tasks that stimulate their curiosity and learning.

2. Supervision & Care:
Maintain constant supervision of children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Provide emotional support and guidance, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.

Assist with basic care routines such as feeding, diapering, dressing, and ensuring children’s hygiene needs are met.

3. Classroom Environment:
Create a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment that supports the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of the children.

Set up age-appropriate materials, toys, and activities that encourage exploration, play, and learning.

Ensure that the environment is safe and child-friendly, regularly inspecting play areas and equipment.

4. Behavior Management:
Implement positive behavior reinforcement techniques to encourage appropriate social behavior and interpersonal skills.

Help children develop skills in sharing, taking turns, expressing feelings, and resolving conflicts.

Establish and maintain a calm, structured environment while using age-appropriate methods to guide children’s behavior.

5. Communication & Parent Interaction:
Regularly communicate with parents and guardians to share updates on their child’s development, achievements, and any concerns.

Maintain open and positive communication with parents about daily activities, progress, and any challenges.

Provide support and guidance to parents on child development, milestones, and effective parenting strategies.

6. Health & Safety:
Follow all health and safety regulations, including monitoring children for illness or injury and responding appropriately.

Ensure children are always supervised and maintain a safe environment for play and activities.

Administer basic first aid when necessary and inform parents and guardians of any incidents.

7. Professional Development:
Stay updated on early childhood education best practices and participate in training opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to improve the quality of care and education provided to children.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (preferred).

CPR and First Aid certification (required or must be obtained).

Experience working with young children in a daycare or educational setting (preferred).

Knowledge of child development principles and best practices for early childhood education.

Skills & Attributes:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment.

Understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.

The Day Care Teacher plays an essential role in fostering a positive and supportive early learning environment for children.
