Job Title: Land Revenue Compliance Officer

Department: Legal / Compliance / Land Management

Reports To: Head of Compliance / Director of Land Affairs / Legal Counsel

Job Summary:
The Land Revenue Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with land revenue laws, regulations, and procedures. This includes verifying the legality of land titles, maintaining up-to-date land revenue records, coordinating with government agencies, and ensuring timely payment of land revenue dues. The role requires strong knowledge of local land laws and the ability to interpret legal documents, manage disputes, and support land acquisition or transfer activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with applicable land revenue laws, land reform acts, and government notifications.

Maintain updated records of land holdings, title deeds, mutations, and revenue receipts.

Monitor and ensure timely payment of land taxes and cess, and manage challans, receipts, and revenue-related documentation.

Coordinate with local land revenue authorities (Tehsildar, Patwari, etc.) for obtaining records such as Khatauni, Jamabandi, and Khasra maps.

Support the verification and due diligence of land titles and ownership during acquisitions, sales, and leasing.

Handle land-related litigation and represent the organization in land revenue offices and quasi-judicial forums.

Assist in resolving disputes related to encroachments, demarcation, or boundary issues.

Maintain internal databases of land assets and revenue compliance status.

Liaise with survey departments for mapping and re-survey of land parcels.

Prepare regular compliance reports and risk assessments for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Land Administration, Public Administration, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in land revenue compliance, land record management, or related government liaison roles.

In-depth understanding of local land laws, land revenue codes, and property registration procedures.

Ability to interpret legal land documents like Patta, Sale Deed, Mutation Entry, and RTC records.

Strong communication and coordination skills with government officials and legal teams.

Proficiency in local language(s) and knowledge of government land record portals (e.g., Bhulekh, Dharani, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Law (LLM) or specialization in land law.

Experience in working with government land departments or revenue offices.

Certification in GIS mapping or land surveying tools is a plus.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
