- Quantum optimal control of noisy quantum systems, counter-diabatic driving for complex systems, simulation of noisy quantum systems, and design of quantum algorithms for near-term devices.
- Condensed-matter physics (e.g., many-body systems, topological aspects of matter, disordered and glassy systems, spin glasses, non-Hermitian physics)
- Statistical Physics, Nonlinear dynamics and Chaos
- Fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics
- The above-mentioned topics are representative research themes. However, the desired research background may not be limited to these._

**Qualifications**: Ph.D. in appropriate branch/discipline and first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in Physics with a good academic record throughout. A minimum of three years of research experience, excluding the experience gained before and while pursuing a Ph.D., is mandatory.
