Supply Assistant

Org. Setting and Reporting
- This position is located within the Life Support Section in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) with duty station, Goma. The Supply Assistant will report to the Chief of the Unit in Life Support Section (LSS).
- Responsibilities
- Within the delegated authority, the Supply Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: 1. Assist in coordinating with the relevant parties in rations management such as rations supply, warehouse management to ensure that food delivery procedures are in line with stated guidelines. 2. Support in monitoring and analyzing the rations contractual performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, schedules, and cost objectives and KPIs. 3. Assist in invoice verification processes, food order processing and delivery management. 4. Assist in ensuring Composite Rations Packs (CRP) are of an acceptable quality, under good storage conditions and safe to consume. Conduct periodic Inspection of Rations Packs in various locations. 5. Assist in verifying all contingents’ rations stores, kitchens, and dining facilities to ensure compliance with Rations policy, not limited to requisitioning procedures, good hygienic practices (GHP) and safety standards of food handlers, equipment, and facilities. 6. Receives authorized on-line requisitions for stores' supplies from Chiefs of Section and Heads of Units; verifies requisitions in accordance with sections'/units' monthly requirements. 7. Ensures that supplies are issued to requesting offices/sections as per approved requisitions without delay. 8. Assists in raising requisitions for services and items required by the supply Stores. coordinates with offices and Sections about the requests received. Provides updates of requisition status on a regular basis 9. Assists in preparing a variety of monthly, yearly, and ad hoc inventory reports of the field mission's property. Maintains updates and ensures accuracy and completeness of computer database recording requisition details, purchase orders, delivery, and other supply related actions and monitors reports. 10. Perform other duties as required.

- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Job - Specific Qualification
- A valid driving license of "Category A" is desirable. Diploma/Certificate in Food Management/Logistics/Supply Chain /Warehouse Management or related fields is desirable. Technical or vocational certificate in Food/Fuel/General Supply management is desirable.
- Work Experience
- At least three (03) years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, inventory and supply management or related area is required. Experience in food safety management is desirable.
- Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in both English and French is required.
