Quicksand is a design strategy & innovation practice headquartered in India, and working in emerging markets. Our entrepreneurial journey started in 2004 with our New Delhi studio. In 2007, we opened in Bengaluru, and then in Goa in 2017. We have satellite studio presence in Mumbai and London.

**What the role entails**
- Work closely with Quicksand's vCFO in preparing and anchoring periodic reviews with the board of directors and senior management.
- Take the lead in managing contracts and client communication w.r.t. receivables, contractual modifications, financial planning and reporting.
- Lead internal communication with middle management on project profitability, headcount planning and any other matter of business that has a direct impact on financials.
- Own the entire financial statements, working capital management and cash flow, and drive to achieve and improve the targets planned (EBITDA and working capital) - act as a running source of truth for key financial metrics and performance drivers.
- Monthly reporting of accruals, maintaining budget vs. actual spends tracker
- Work with project teams and drive financial discipline and implement processes.
- Publish the right financial picture at regular intervals to both the middle and senior management teams.
- Ensure cash & fund flow is forecasted accurately and take the right treasury management decisions.
- Oversee the existing finance team on tax compliance and proper maintenance of books of accounts as per accounting standards.
- Ensuring the monthly closing process is carried out properly, and annual audits are completed on time.
- Develop and implement financial and operational frameworks and controls as required by the company.

**Technical Skills**
- Experience of working in consulting services as well as for-profit and not-for-profit financial management
- Sound knowledge of financial statements and taxation principles
- Knowledge of both for-profit and non-profit accounting principles and standards
- MBA or CA/CWA and related-field experience of 6+ years
- Excellent presentation skills, proficient in MS Office, MS Excel
- Strong understanding and experience in data analytics, using data to drive decision making
- Knowledge and experience of business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau
- Comfort with accounting and book-keeping tools like Tally (and other cloud-based tools like Zoho) to be able to provide oversight to the accounting team
