Job Description: Instructional DesignerPosition Description

Instructional Designers are responsible for the design, creation, coordination, and implementation of learning content. They are also responsible for training and learning projects identified as fulfilling the performance and competency gaps in the business area/function. They will anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks, interface with varied partners and integrate new or existing business processes where necessary. Instructional Designers also ensure quality design, development, and delivery of training development projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Developing web-based, instructor-led, blended instruction, self-study, and virtual-session learning solutions within the Learning & Development technology environment.
- Organizing the learning targets into a logical, instructional flow, appropriate for the culture and level of expertise of the end user/learner.
- Working with different business partners to assess critical business needs and recommending learning solutions that address capability and competency gaps.
- Revising or redeveloping learning solutions in response to feedback from the client.
- Assessing source content and proposing learning solution that includes accessibility.
- Identifying other recommended course revisions and partnering with the business client to identify needed changes.
- Defining learning objectives and instructional design documentation.
- Delivering quality projects on time, within budget.
- Uploading content to appropriate content infrastructure sites, L&D content repositories, and Learning Management Systems as needed.
- Supporting branding and design guidelines in L&D content.
- Complying with all policies and standards.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Training Development
- Design and develop various learning deliverables including computer-based training, job aids, infographics, media scripts, and workshop materials, etc.
- Ensure all documents are well written, usable/executable, and compliant with policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of needed references and attribution of source material.
- Oversee projects to ensure the on-time, creation of deliverables that meet quality standards and meet the needs of the business.
- Facilitates the review/approval process if required and reconcile reviewer feedback and address all issues.
- Creates and oversee execution of project plan(s).
- Stays abreast of the breadth of learning solutions to guide business partners to the most effective learning methods, solutions and outcomes.
- Benchmarks best practices, seeking opportunities to improve processes.
- Conducts usability testing as required.

Stakeholder Management
- POC for each project, manages timelines, coordinates with other team members if required
- Develop, implement, and monitor communication plans for assigned work.
- Communicate project and program status with stakeholders.
- Anticipate and resolve project/program issues; escalating as appropriate.

Basic Requirements
- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience)
- M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, or related experience/education.
- Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Certification.
- 5 years experience as learning professional in regulated environment.
- Experience with online content learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Vyond, Camtasia, WalkMe) and publishing in a learning content management system.
- Demonstrated excellence with program/project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish strong business relationships.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, personal motivation, and team player who is dynamic and result oriented.
- Good presentation skills, interpersonal and communication skills, fluent (verbal and written) in English.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, leadership, and proactive strategic learning and development consultation
- Experience implementing learning interventions to meet accessibility requirements (such as WCAG)
- Experience managing translations in learning deliverables, if required.
- Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing ambiguity for effective results in complex, resource-constrained situations
- Ability and willingness to challenge business leadership regarding ways to use learning interventions to most effectively meet business requirements
- Experience with Microsoft tools, including SharePoint, Teams and Forms
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design, analysis, and evaluation.
- Exchanges complex information and ideas effectively.
- Knowledge of companion systems used to execute common business and L&D processes
- Flexibility and creativity
