**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- **Database Design and Implementation**:

- Design, implement, and maintain database structures in DB2 and SQL environments.
- **Performance Monitoring and Tuning**:

- Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
- Implement tuning strategies to optimize database query performance.
- **Backup and Recovery**:

- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures.
- **Security and Compliance**:

- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal security policies.
- **Troubleshooting and Support**:

- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for database-related issues.
- **Database Upgrades and Patching**:

- Plan and execute database software upgrades and patching activities.
- Ensure mínimal disruption to business operations during upgrades.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Keep documentation up-to-date with changes in the database environment.
- **Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators and developers, to ensure seamless integration of database systems with overall IT infrastructure.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- X years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on DB2 and SQL.
- In-depth knowledge of database architecture, design, and implementation.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization in DB2 and SQL environments.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions.
- Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, SQL scripts) for automation tasks.
