We are seeking a Junior SQL Programmer to join our team and assist in database management and development tasks. This role primarily involves working with MS SQL Server 2019 and Azure cloud SQL databases. As a Junior SQL Programmer, you will support database design, write SQL scripts, and contribute to database performance tuning and optimization. You will collaborate closely with the development teams to ensure smooth database operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- T-SQL Development: Write SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, tables, and views with guidance and support from senior team members.
- Database Design and Implementation: Assist in database design tasks and contribute to implementing database schema changes.
- Performance Tuning: Learn and support performance tuning efforts for databases and server-level optimizations.
- Query Store: Gain proficiency in using Query Store to analyze and address performance bottlenecks.
- Query Tuning: Collaborate with senior team members to tune SQL queries on high-transaction systems.
- SQL Server Profiler: Learn to use SQL Server Profiler for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.
- Indexes and Execution Plans: Gain knowledge of indexes, execution plans, and identifying missing indexes.
- DMV Utilization: Understand and use Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) to identify performance issues.
- Wait Statistics: Learn to use wait statistics to improve database performance.
- ETL Knowledge: Develop familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes.
- Automation: Contribute to automating daily database-related tasks under guidance.
- Production Servers: Work with production servers following best practices and guidelines.

**Mandatory Skills and Abilities**:

- T-SQL Understanding: Basic understanding of T-SQL and the ability to learn and improve.
- Database Assistance: Willingness to assist in database design and implementation tasks.
- Performance Monitoring: Ability to monitor and report on database performance issues and assist in resolving them.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
- Data Tasks: Support data analysis, extraction, import, and management activities.
- SQL Coding: Learn to create stored procedures, functions, and triggers using T-SQL with guidance.

**Good to Have Skills**:

- Azure SQL: Gain knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL Database.
