DevOps Architect

**Job Summary**:
The DevOps Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable and efficient DevOps processes and toolchains that enable seamless software development, integration, and deployment. This individual will work closely with software development, operations, and quality assurance teams to optimize workflows, automate processes, and ensure infrastructure stability. The DevOps Architect will also be tasked with identifying opportunities to improve the organization’s CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design and Implement DevOps Strategies**: Develop end-to-end DevOps strategies that integrate development, testing, and operations processes to enhance productivity and system reliability.
- **Automation**: Create and manage automated deployment pipelines for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD). Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring.
- **Cloud Architecture**: Design scalable cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and manage infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- **Containerization and Orchestration**: Implement and manage container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to support microservices architecture.
- **Monitoring and Logging**: Set up comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and rapid troubleshooting of production issues using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
- **Security and Compliance**: Ensure that DevOps practices adhere to security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR). Implement security measures within CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
- **Tooling and Infrastructure**: Evaluate, implement, and maintain the DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, or Travis CI, and oversee the adoption of new tools and technologies.
- **Documentation**: Create and maintain thorough documentation for infrastructure designs, deployment processes, and best practices for internal and external teams.
- **Training and Mentorship**: Train and mentor development and operations teams on DevOps principles, practices, and tools to foster a DevOps culture within the organization.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Background**: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 10 years of experience in DevOps or cloud architecture, with at least 2 years in a leadership or architecture role.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Chef.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and SVN.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
- Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and security best practices.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other software development methodologies.
- **Communication Skills**: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in high-pressure environments.
- **Leadership and Collaboration**: Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading DevOps projects or initiatives.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience in microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, integrating security into the DevOps lifecycle.
- Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
