Job Title: Account Assistant
Job Overview:
The Account Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the broking firm. This position involves maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, assisting in client servicing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping and Accounting:
- Recording financial transactions in accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
2. Client Services:
- Assisting clients with account inquiries, transaction details, and account management.
- Supporting client onboarding and account opening processes.
3. Administrative Support:
- Managing and filing financial documents, invoices, and statements.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and summaries.
- Maintaining confidentiality and security of financial information.
4. Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
- Assisting in audits and preparing documentation for regulatory inspections.
- Staying updated on industry regulations and best practices.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Coordinating with other departments such as trading, research, and compliance teams.
- Collaborating with colleagues to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
6. Software Proficiency:
- Utilizing accounting software (e.g., Tech-excel) and MS Excel for financial data management and analysis.
- Learning new software tools and systems as required by the firm.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role is advantageous, particularly within the financial services industry.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
