**About Job**:
**A CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) Technician's job involves meticulously cleaning, disinfeecting, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety during surgical and medical procedures. Responsibilities include decontamination, proper assembly of instrument kits, operating sterilization equipment, maintaining detailed records, and managing inventory of supplies within a hospital or healthcare setting. Adherence to strict safety, cleanliness, and sterilization standards is paramount to prevent infections and maintain a high standard of patient care.**

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Decontamination and Cleaning: Thoroughly cleaning and decontaminating instruments and equipment after each use to remove all traces of blood and body fluids.

2. Assembly and Packaging: Carefully assembling surgical instruments and other medical equipment into specific sets and packaging them for sterilization.

3. Sterilization: Operating various sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves (steam sterilizers), ensuring that all items are sterilized to established protocols and standards.

4. Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of supplies and instruments, identifying any damaged or missing items, and ensuring they are repaired or replaced.

5. Record Keeping: Documenting all sterilization processes, including temperatures, times, and any deviations from standard procedures, to ensure compliance and quality control.

6. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all sterilization equipment is functioning correctly and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the department.

7. Safety and Compliance: Adhering strictly to safety, hygiene, and sterilization standards to prevent infections and ensure the well-being of patients and healthcare staff.
