**Job Title**:Shift In-Charge

**Based at**:Ankleshwar plants

Qualification: BE Chemical/ BTech/ MTech Chemical or Msc Chemistry

Experience range : 5 to 10 Yrs ( Shift Handling from Chemical Process Industry only)

**Reports to**:Head Production

**Direct Reports**:Workmen

**Section One : Job Purpose**:
Achieve production target by maintaining the quality of product, optimum utilization of manpower, material, & machines, supervise work during shifts as per instructions & standard procedures and responsible for safety of people, process & plant at work place during the shifts

**Section Two : Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Work in shifts environment where plant is operating 24 X 7
- Study the production plan in detail for the shift & plan shift activities accordingly
- Allocate the manpower in such a way that shift target will be achieved
- Ensure required raw materials is available to commence production plan.
- Keeping records of observations, test results as per work instructions cum process sheet.
- Verify all raw materials & intermediates received from stores are as per product name, product code, consignment number & in required quantity.
- Follow the processing activities as per the relevant work instruction cum process sheet and processing details received from R&D.
- Align the production process to the planning for the month.
- Responsible for overall processing activity within resin plant, varnish section & thinner section in respective shifts.
- Communicate effectively to HOD, if any rejection is found in quality testing
- Support MTD function for new product development.
- Ensure to follow SOPs (Standard operating processes) and all the records of processing are being maintained in log sheets.
- Ensure all the person working in plant use Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) as per the requirement.
- Ensure all the in-process quality checks are being followed.
- Responsible for adhering to all compliances for internal control programs.
- Analyzing operational & quality shortfalls and implement action plan to mitigate it.
- To meet the production target for manufacturing in terms of yields, quality, efficiencies, first time pass rate and timely delivery as per the set guidelines and directions
- Identify & remove bottlenecks/ problems in smooth running of the shift.
- Ensure proper co-ordination with engineering department for breakdown and preventive maintenance
- Work for maintenance of systems as laid down by the management viz. ISO 9001, 45001, 18001, six sigma, SAP & 5S etc.
- Control processes using DCS and SCADA system
- Carry out ‘in-process’ testing of batches as per the design or specification requirement
- Calibrate equipment used in manufacturing as well in process testing
- To train the workmen on work instructions and SOP and other initiatives related to

Manufacturing.
- Provide encouragement and develop operators for multi -tasking, multi -skills.
- Suggest improvement in processes for reduction in cycle time, resource conservation activities etc.
- To seek involvement of workmen and get their suggestions for improvement of processes
- Develop subordinates through on the job training and formal training
- Ensure all documents related to product parameters, processes are appropriately recorded
- Confirm the number of packages filled for a particular batch
- Collect waste-water & treated water samples & hand over to ETP/QC for analysis as per ETP procedures.
- To co-ordinate the responsibility of plant activities after office hours in respective shifts.
- Act as incident controller as per Onsite Emergency Plan after office hours.

**Section Three : Major Challenges**
- Zero incident/accident in plant.
- Achieving production plan with optimum utilization of resources (man, machine, material, energy etc.).
- Handling major breakdowns.
- Maintaining quality of product, OEE, 5S, SAP and IMS in the plant.
- Development of capability of operators and workers.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Regular / Permanent

**Salary**: ₹500,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
