Architect Designer

The Architect Designer plays a key role in the architectural design and planning process, contributing to the creation of functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable structures. They collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, develop design concepts, and produce architectural drawings and specifications. The Architect Designer combines creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Conceptual Design and Planning:Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints.
Develop creative design concepts, considering functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Prepare initial sketches, mood boards, and 3D visualizations to communicate design ideas effectively.

Architectural Drawings and Documentation:Create detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards in the design and documentation process.
Prepare and revise architectural specifications, materials schedules, and cost estimates.

Technical Expertise and Problem Solving:Conduct research and analysis to inform design decisions, such as site analysis, environmental impact assessment, and structural considerations.
Collaborate with engineers and consultants to integrate various systems, such as structural, mechanical, and electrical, into the design.
Resolve design challenges and provide innovative solutions to ensure the functionality, safety, and efficiency of the proposed structure.

Presentation and Communication:Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to clients and stakeholders, showcasing design concepts, rationale, and key features.
Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the accurate interpretation and implementation of design intent.
Collaborate with interior designers and landscape architects to ensure a cohesive design approach across all aspects of the project.

Project Management and Coordination:Collaborate with project managers to establish project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and timelines.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction aligns with the approved design and specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in architectural design and project delivery.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and ideas.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and constraints.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in producing architectural drawings and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices is desirable.
- Licensure as an architect is an advantage, depending on the jurisdiction and project requirements.
