Introduction:
The job holder will drive value through appropriate Risk Management of relevant credit risk analytics and strategies for the Small Business Issuing portfolio with focus on Existing Customer management. These activities include development and optimisation of credit risk strategies and processes with accountability for driving profitability and growing the portfolio within the defined risk appetite, tracking and monitoring of BPI credit risk strategy performance, providing insights and recommending improvements.

What will you be doing?

Provide best-in-class analytics
- Through rigorous analysis and sound logical frameworks, support the development and optimization of various existing customer management strategies
- Provide insight and recommendations to Senior Credit Risk Manager in order to support in the creation of risk strategies to contain the cost of risk and achieve P&L/impairment targets.
- Support with in-depth monitoring of performance of certain credit policies, highlighting trends / insights and driving corrective actions.
- Ensure strategy and model documentation and governance remains up-to date and work with the internal validation unit to ensure models are well governed.
- Support external reviews of all strategies and policies (e.g. Audit, Peer review) and ensure we remain compliant as a business to all internal and external controls.
- Ability to source data from various data warehouses and external partners.
- Be creative in your approach to data analysis / performance management, obtaining insights in different ways and demonstrating expertise to provide new ways of managing portfolio risk. Constantly assess the team’s performance, looking for continual improvements
- Respond to requests for information from senior management. Producing timely, clear and accurate data/insight to meet those requests.
- Assist with collation of information and analysis to support key Risk projects as and when required ensuring accurate and timely output
- Interacting with key stakeholders to understand requirements and to articulate findings and recommendations.
- Clear articulation of recommendations via appropriate approval presentations/forums

Improve Internal Processes
- Identify new opportunities for enhancing/ streamlining services
- Formulate opportunities into proposals, share with the manager and implement

Team Player Activities
- Work effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives
- Contribute to the wider colleague agenda of the Barclaycard Risk Strategy India Hub

What we’re looking for:

- Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems
- Passionate about data analysis and how this contributes to the business
- Advanced understanding of standard statistical package (SAS/SQL essential) and Excel

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Post-graduate degree
- Background in Credit Risk/ Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)
- Extensive experience analysing programmes through the lens of Cards P&L and customer metrics.
