**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Curriculum Development**: Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive social studies curriculum that meets state and national educational standards.
- **Instruction**: Deliver engaging, interactive lessons on various topics within social studies, including history, geography, civics, economics, and cultural studies.
- **Assessment**: Design and administer tests, quizzes, and other assessment tools to evaluate student performance and understanding.
- **Classroom Management**: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, respect, and discipline.
- **Student Support**: Provide additional support to students as needed, including tutoring, mentoring, and counseling, to help them achieve academic success.
- **Professional Development**: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and content knowledge.
- **Communication**: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school policies.
- **Extracurricular Activities**: Facilitate or participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities, such as clubs, field trips, or school events related to social studies.
- **Technology Integration**: Utilize educational technology tools to enhance instruction and engage students in learning.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required for entry-level positions.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of social studies content and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Proficiency with classroom technology and educational software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in diverse and multicultural classrooms.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques.
