Lab Assistant

**Position Title: Microbiologist**

Position Overview: The Microbiologist will be responsible for sub-culturing bacterial and fungal cultures, bio efficacy test, preparing bio-formulations, contributing to future production development, preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), creating and maintaining databases, documenting research processes, and assisting in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Sub-culturing:

- Perform routine sub-culturing of bacterial and fungal cultures to maintain stock cultures.
- Ensure cultures are free from contamination and maintain viability.
- Document all sub-culturing activities and maintain accurate records.
- Bio-formulation Preparation:

- Develop and prepare bio-formulations based on research requirements.
- Test and optimize bio-formulation processes for efficacy and stability.
- Collaborate with the production team to scale up successful formulations.
- Future Production Development:

- Assist in the development of new production methods and processes for microbiological products.
- Participate in pilot-scale production runs and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition research findings to production.
- SOP Preparation:

- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory techniques, processes, and equipment use.
- Ensure SOPs comply with regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Train laboratory staff on new and revised SOPs.
- Database Creation and Documentation:

- Create and maintain databases for culture collections, experimental results, and bio-formulation data.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all records.
- Document all research activities, including experimental protocols, observations, and results.
- IPR Development:

- Assist in the identification and protection of intellectual property arising from microbiological research.
- Collaborate with legal and research teams to secure and manage IPR.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in bacterial and fungal culturing techniques.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in an industrial or commercial microbiology laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines related to microbiology.
- Experience with pilot-scale production and process optimization.
