Role Overview:
The Formulation Chemist will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing fragrance formulations for perfumes, body mists, aftershaves, and related products. The role requires a blend of scientific precision and creative olfactory understanding to deliver consistent, high-performing fragrance products that align with brand and client briefs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Product Formulation & Development
• Develop and modify perfume formulations as per client or internal briefs.
• Work with perfumers and evaluators to achieve desired fragrance profiles, concentration levels, and stability.
• Ensure formulations comply with IFRA and other global regulatory standards.
- Research & Innovation
• Study raw materials (essential oils, aroma chemicals, fixatives, solvents, etc.) and their performance in different bases.
• Experiment with new ingredients, accords, and technologies to create innovative fragrance solutions.
• Maintain a database of tested and approved formulations for future reference.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
• Conduct stability testing, maceration trials, and compatibility checks with packaging materials.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure consistency and compliance in production batches.
• Maintain accurate lab records, batch sheets, and formulation data.
- Technical Support
• Provide technical input during production scale-up and troubleshooting.
• Assist in cost optimization without compromising fragrance performance.
• Support the client onboarding team with technical queries related to formulation feasibility.
- Compliance & Documentation
• Prepare formulation sheets, COAs, MSDS, and technical documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and environmental protocols within the lab.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Perfumery Science, or related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years (minimum 1 year in perfume, cosmetics, or aroma formulation preferred).
• Strong understanding of ethanol-based and oil-based perfume systems.
• Familiarity with IFRA guidelines, stability testing, and fragrance raw materials.
• Ability to work with precision instruments (GC, refractometer, viscometer, etc.) – preferred.
• Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with creative olfactory sensibility.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
