**Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)**

**Position Summary**:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the senior management team at Chrysalis High, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategies of both the school and our real estate portfolio. The CFO will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure the fiscal health of the organization, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the school and real estate ventures.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Financial Strategy and Planning**:

- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support decision-making processes.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas of improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessment and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.

**2. Budgeting and Financial Management**:

- Prepare and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and operational requirements.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances, provide regular financial reports to management, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, procurement, and cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards.

**3. Financial Reporting and Analysis**:

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis, evaluate financial performance, and present reports to the management team and stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.

**4. Real Estate Portfolio Management**:

- Oversee financial aspects of the real estate portfolio, including property acquisitions, lease agreements, and property management.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies for real estate projects, evaluate investment opportunities, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Monitor rental income, property expenses, and cash flow related to real estate assets.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize the financial performance of the real estate portfolio.

**5. Team Leadership and Development**:

- Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial communication and alignment of goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to finance and real estate management.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CPA)
- Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the education and real estate sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of real estate financial management, investment analysis, and property valuation.
- Proficient in financial software and systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
