**About the Requirement**
This position is **very important** for maintaining staff health and satisfaction. Preference will be given to cooks who are **familiar with traditional Odia delicacies**, simple vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and who understand the routine and food habits of industrial workers.
**Key Job Responsibilities**
**Meal Preparation**
- Cook **daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner** for 30-50 people.
- Prepare **simple, healthy, and non-spicy meals** using local ingredients.
- Serve food on time as per plant schedules (breakfast by 7:00 AM, lunch by 12:30 PM, dinner by 8:00 PM).
- Ensure food is warm, hygienic, and properly cooked without excess oil or masala.
**Menu Planning**
- Prepare **weekly menu** in consultation with Plant In-charge or Office staff.
- Include **basic Odia delicacies** like dalma, saga bhaja, santula, arua / tomato khatta, machha tarkari (optional), boiled egg curry, chicken curry, etc.
- Must be comfortable with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
- Should maintain **variation in taste and variety** while keeping food healthy and simple.
**Kitchen Management**
- Maintain a **clean and hygienic cooking space**.
- Store raw materials properly, monitor daily usage, and reduce wastage.
- Maintain inventory of rations like rice, dal, vegetables, oil, spices, etc.
- Coordinate with mess in-charge or storekeeper for timely purchase of vegetables and essentials.
**Serving and Clean-Up**
- Ensure food is served timely and utensils are washed or coordinated with helper (if available).
- Keep utensils, gas stove, and storage area clean.
- Maintain discipline and avoid arguments with staff or workers.
**Special Occasions**
- Prepare **special meals during festivals, birthdays, or guest visits** with prior instruction.
- Should be flexible during production surge days or late shifts.
**Preferred Qualifications & Traits**
- Should be from Odisha or nearby region and know **Odia home-style cooking**.
- Prior experience of cooking for **industrial canteen, mess, or staff colony** is preferred.
- Must be **sincere, disciplined, honest**, and maintain cleanliness.
- Should not be **alcoholic**.
- Able to handle large quantity cooking (up to 50 persons or more) without compromising on quality.
- Should be **non-alcoholic** and maintain proper behavior with all staff members.
- Basic knowledge of ration planning, stock usage, and time management.
- If available with a **helper / wife**, that can be considered for joint food / mess responsibility.
**Accommodation & Facilities**
- **Free accommodation (shared)** may be provided inside the staff colony (Lakshmipur or Bandhamandi).
- **Separate kitchen space with utensils, gas connection, and ration support** will be provided.
- Salary is **negotiable and will be revised yearly based on performance**.
- Additional support (monthly ration budget or helper) may be provided depending on scale.
**Work Timings**
- **Morning Shift**: 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM (Breakfast)
- **Midday Shift**: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Lunch)
- **Evening Shift**: 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (Dinner)
- Rest time in between, and weekly rest may be allowed depending on arrangements.
