Tailoring

Assigns work to tailors & artisans on a daily basis fulfilling sales orders as per delivery timelines.
- Assigns production work to partner organisations along with expected production timelines & quantities.
- Assigns raw material from inventory to be sent to partner organisations to meet production requirements.
- Outsources work to tailors outside the organisation to meet any surge in orders along with production timelines & quantities.
- Assigns raw material from inventory to be sent to outsourced tailors.
- Keeps track of completed products from partners and outsourced tailors.
- Negotiates with tailors for manufacturing of our product items (maintains integrity)
- Coordinates with merchandising team in dispatching raw material and collecting finished product items.
- Communicates any delays/shortfall in production from any stakeholder with management team.
- Is reasonably good at-risk assessment, foreseeing potential challenges and has a plan to address such challenges.
- Ensures that delivery timelines for sales orders are met while taking into consideration lead times of shipment in fulfilling the orders.
- Estimates productivity of each tailors & artisans for each product item
- Documents & reports daily production targets for each tailor and maintains data in spreadsheets.
- Communicates with the sales team if production capacity can or cannot accommodate any further orders.
- Ensures daily production targets are met by tailors and artisans while ensuring quality.
- Estimates the total raw material that is required for fulfilling orders.
- Has knowledge about lead times in procurement of raw material.
- Communicates with merchandising manager in placing orders of raw material required for daily production.
- Plans and ensures raw material is procured well in advance taking potential future orders into consideration.
- Has complete knowledge of raw materials required in the production of product items.
- Has knowledge of the production processes.
- Ensures tailors are not idle - if idle will plan for production of intermediary items of our products or production of inventory items for exhibitions/sales/samples etc
- Maintains good relations with production team, addresses any challenges/grievances of the tailors.
- Should be able to speak in vernacular languages with tailors (Hindi/Gujarati/Marathi/English) and good at communication.
- Ensures machinery is always in working condition, serviced, has track of AMCs relating to machinery.
- Works constantly at optimising production efficiencies Has the ability to handle pressure, meet timelines, work overtime when required
- Needs to be accountable.

Customer / Orders
- Receiving orders from customers via mail, phone, or other electronic means.
- Obtaining customers’ details and billing information, and entering the information correctly on the order form.
- Supervising and notifying the team and vendors when supplies of items are low, or when orders could deplete available supplies.
- Informing customers about prices, shipping dates, and anticipated delays.
- Ensuring that the accounts department prepares invoices, shipping documents, and contracts.
- Ensuring that the forwarded information is done to the correct departments for delivery of the order.
- Inspecting outgoing orders to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Reviewing orders for completeness and forwarding incomplete orders for further processing.
- Liaising with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or delivery personnel to trace or accelerate shipments.
- Supervising the booking shipments on Delivery/ We Fast etc for pickup and delivery.
- Ensuring timely delivery of product and raw materials

Product / Quality
- Assessing and approving completed items and production standards
- Liaising closely with colleagues as part of a small team
- Using specialist software programs to create embroidery files
- Ensuring that projects are completed on time
- Developing a network of business contacts
- Working closely with the media and marketing and public relations, finances and business administration and maintaining websites.
- Checking the inventory records and tallying them with the actual inventory
- Managing and recording daily expenses

**Experience and Education**:

- 3+ years’ experience, preferably in apparel manufacturing industry
- Bachelors / Masters in business administration

**Knowledge, Skills and Attributes**:

- This position requires strong organisational and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on attention to detail. Key to success is the ability to work collaboratively with team, clients and vendors, in a fast-paced environment.

- Skilled at prioritising and working under time constraints, managing multiple tasks, and working independently while remaining flexible to changing priorities and assignments.
