IT Technician Job Description

Job Title: IT Technician

Reports to: IT Manager / Network Administrator / Head of IT

**Job Summary**:
The IT Technician provides technical support for computer systems and networks, ensuring smooth operation and solving any technical issues that arise. This role involves both proactive maintenance and reactive troubleshooting to support employees’ hardware and software needs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support:

- Provide first-level support for users, assisting with issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

2. System Maintenance:

- Perform routine maintenance and updates for computer systems and servers, ensuring security and performance.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware as needed.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues to minimize downtime.

3. Network Management:

- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of networks, including wireless networks, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and maintain network security.

4. Inventory and Asset Management:

- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
- Manage inventory of computers, printers, and other IT equipment.

5. Data Security and Backup:

- Implement and monitor data backup and recovery systems to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
- Assist in enforcing security policies and protocols, such as firewalls and antivirus protection.

6. Documentation:

- Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and technical support logs.

7. Training and User Education:

- Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on using software, hardware, and IT policies.
- Develop easy-to-understand materials and resources for non-technical employees.

Qualifications:
**Education**:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

**Experience**:

- 1-3 years of experience in an IT support or technician role.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure.
- Skills:

- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position may require occasional lifting of equipment, as well as some off-hours support for critical systems.
- Primarily office-based but may require travel to various locations for on-site technical support.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Shift:

- Day shift
