Job Title: Cashier

Department: Front Office / Sales Counter / F&B Outlet (depending on the business type)

Reports To: Store/Restaurant Manager or Accounts Department
Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling all customer transactions accurately and efficiently, managing the cash register, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records of sales. The role requires strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and adherence to company policies on cash handling and security.
Key Responsibilities

1. Cash Handling & Transactions

Operate cash registers, POS systems, or billing software.

Receive payments by cash, card, UPI, or other approved modes.

Issue receipts, refunds, and change accurately.

Count cash at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring amounts tally with sales reports.

2. Customer Service

Greet customers and respond to queries politely.

Resolve billing issues or refer to supervisors when required.

Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.

3. Record Keeping & Reporting

Maintain accurate daily transaction records.

Prepare and submit daily cash reports to the manager/accounts team.

Safeguard cash and ensure compliance with cash-handling procedures.

4. Compliance & Security

Follow all company SOPs for billing and money handling.

Immediately report discrepancies, theft, or suspicious transactions.

Ensure cash drawers and registers are secure.

5. Other Duties

Assist with basic store operations (packing, restocking, or floor assistance) during non-peak hours.

Maintain cleanliness of the billing area.

6. Bill entery also to be done on daily basis
Skills & Competencies

Strong numerical ability and accuracy.

Basic computer and POS system knowledge.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Honesty, integrity, and reliability.

Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum education: High School / Higher Secondary.

Prior cashier or cash-handling experience preferred.

Basic accounting knowledge is an advantage.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
