**Job Description: Programme Coordinator** - Transition Planning, Aftercare & Alumni Relations

We seek a highly motivated, energetic team player to join our dynamic team at Udayan Care, Delhi.

Udayan Care is a 30-year-old social purpose organization headquartered in Delhi and present in 16 states of India. Its programs focus primarily on children and young adults. Interventions like child protection, education, and skilling enable and empower them to strengthen their future and live a life of dignity. Udayan Care also advocates for the rights of children in alternative care.

**Objectives of this role**

The Program Coordinator will be Lead the strategic planning and implementation of comprehensive aftercare and rehabilitation programs for youth transitioning out of institutional care, in alignment with Mission Vatsalya guidelines and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2015. The focus will be on ensuring successful transition of Care Leavers into independent living through holistic development and sustainable rehabilitation strategies.

**Key Strategic Responsibilities**

**1. Aftercare Programme Leadership**
- Develop and implement comprehensive aftercare strategies aligned with national care standards and best practices
- Lead the Aftercare Committee to ensure policy development, resource allocation, and program effectiveness
- Design and oversee financial support mechanisms including budgeting, disbursement policies, and sustainability planning
- Foster partnerships with educational institutions, employers, and support service providers
- Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program outcomes and impact

**2. Transition Planning & Rehabilitation Management**
- Develop individualized transition plans for youth approaching 18 years, ensuring alignment with their aspirations and capabilities
- Lead multi-stakeholder coordination for comprehensive rehabilitation planning, including education, vocational training, and employment pathways
- Design preventive and responsive intervention strategies for successful community integration
- Establish quality standards for transition support services and rehabilitation outcomes

**3. Alumni Network Development**
- Create and implement strategic initiatives for building a strong, supportive alumni community
- Develop mentorship programs leveraging successful alumni as role models
- Design engagement programs that facilitate peer support and professional networking
- Establish frameworks for tracking long-term outcomes and success stories

**4. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy**
- Represent the organization in relevant government and policy forums
- Build strategic partnerships with educational institutions, corporate sectors, and civil society organizations
- Lead advocacy efforts for aftercare reforms and policy improvements
- Develop communication strategies to showcase impact and best practices

**5. Innovation & System Strengthening**
- Identify and implement innovative approaches to aftercare and rehabilitation
- Develop resource mobilization strategies for program sustainability
- Design capacity building programs for team members and stakeholders
- Establish knowledge management systems for program learning and replication

**Qualification, Experience and Essential Skills**
- Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, or related field
- Minimum 2 Years of Experience
- **Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse groups, including young Adults, government agencies, and external partners.
- Experience in mentoring, counselling, and providing career guidance to young adults.
- Strong Knowledge of JJ Act, Mission Vatsalya and Child protection frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Fluency in English and local language(s).

- Successful transition rate of care leavers into independent living
- Quality of rehabilitation outcomes across education, employment, and social integration
- Effectiveness of aftercare support systems and alumni network
- Strength of stakeholder partnerships and resource mobilization
- Innovation in program design and implementation

**Reporting Relationship**

The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Head and work closely with the management trustee.
