*** What you’ll be doing...**
The Senior Security Engineer will be part of Verizon’s Corporate Information Security (CIS) Security Operations (SEC-OPS) Team, which plays a crucial role in defending Verizon from current and future cyber threats. This Senior Security Engineer will serve as an administrator and engineering resource for the SEC-OPS Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) Platform responsible for the lifecycle of the platform. This includes, but not limited to: scripting, change management, hardware support, workflow development, and developing documentation.
The Senior Security Engineer will work closely with the various internal towers as well as cross-organizational teams on design, development, and use of the system. You will also work with these teams to gather their requirements and develop workflows which not only meet those requirements, but follow best practice.
- Supporting the SEC-OPS SOAR Platform both from an integration standpoint, hardware support, and the front
- Maintaining direct and regular interaction with the organizational stakeholders to ensure system is working and meeting defined requirements.
- Developing and delivering regular training sessions for SEC-OPS and other security originations within Verizon that utilize the platform on new integration / automation efforts.
- Working with both vendor and custom API.
- Supporting integrations between the tool systems, ticketing platform, and SIEM platform.
- Evaluating new features of the product to build out new capabilities for the platform, which can be shared across the various security organizations.
- Performing Change Management work.

*** What we’re looking for...**
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Three or more years of experience directly related to development and scripting.
- Splunk experience.
Even better if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar discipline or four or more years of work experience.
- Master's degree.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Professional certifications include CEH, CISSP, SANS GCIA, CISM or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Experience with development of content, ingestion of feeds, and/or other platform administration functions
- Direct Experience integrating SIEM with other security platforms / ticket systems.
- Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems.
- Ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps.
- Proactive in engaging with customers, client executives and other Verizon team.
