Itron is seeking a firmware engineer to be a member of an agile, cross-functional team primarily responsible for new and continued development and support of an embedded Linux-based platform architecture._

**_Duties and Responsibilities_**_:_
- _Task delivery within a multi-phase development process for current and new product, to include requirement definition, design, development, testing, support and maintenance._
- _Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity and familiarity with sound engineering and embedded firmware principles._
- _Interface verbal and written with cross-functional teams and management._

**_Qualifications_**_: Required 5 years related experience_
- _Algorithms, data structures, object oriented design_
- _Effective C++ programming, shell scripting languages, debug techniques_
- _Multi-thread and multi-process concepts_
- _Linux development and embedded boot-up / runtime environments_
- _Source code management concepts (Git / Perforce)_
- _Multi-phase development process and effective team collaboration_

**_Preferred related experience:_**
- _Standard Template Library (STL), Inter Process Communication (IPC), multi-threads_
- _Kernel module and device driver development and principles_
- _GNU compiler and toolchains_
- _Build configuration and make system (cmake / ctest)_
- _Database design and SQL (sqlite3)_
- _Network and data transfer protocols (IP, CoAp, COSEM/DLMS, DBUS)_
- _Code profiling and memory analysis tools (Valgrind, Coverity)_
- _understanding of security related concepts and interests _
- _key and certificate management, trust chains, and storage techniques_
- _industry standard cryptographic algorithms, modes of operations, and secure protocols (ECDSA, ECDH, RSA, ECC, AES, TLS/SSL)._
- _Open source and 3rd party security library cryptographic APIs._
- _Common vulnerability exposure analysis for prioritization and risk analysis._

**_Education_**_: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience._
